The latest version of Canonical’s popular Linux distribution Ubuntu has hit version 8.10. This is the ninth release dubbed “Intrepid Ibex” of this linux distribution and now with native 3G support in the standard installation, along with a refined default theme, a guest account (similar to the kind seen in Windows and Mac OS X), and Dynamic Kernel Module Support.

Not to mention native support for installing the product to a USB device right from the installer! I haven’t tried it yet but I’ll try to read some reviews first to get some user’s feedback.

On the other hand, Ubuntu 8.10 Server Edition brings it better support for virtualization, and per-user directory encryption.

As an Entrecard member reciprocating drops is already part of my daily routine and most Entrecard members even pride themselves on the fact that they reciprocate all drops made on their website. Some members even joined the U Drop / I Follow movement while for me it’s just a proper etiquette to return the drops (and visit) made on your blog. (Give something back in return)

Microsoft is releasing a new mouse on the 9th of next month and the only hint the company is giving is “Say Goodbye To Laser”. From the looks of it, it would be a new mouse technology but no detailed information has come up yet.

The 3M (Microsoft Mystery Mouse) caught my attention and I really want to know what’s "new’ on this upcoming mouse from Microsoft. Would it be like the one in Apple’s Mac Air? Or maybe a wii-mote motion sensing device? Or maybe we’re going back to the good-old ball mice again. :) I guess we just need to wait until September 9 to find out.

Microsoft officially released Photosynth to the public, allowing users to upload their images and generate their own Photosynth models. People can open an account (with a Windows Live ID) and begin creating “synths,” which require only a digital camera and an 8-megabyte software download.

Photosynth is a software from Microsoft Live Labs and the University of Washington that analyzes digital photographs to build a three-dimensional point cloud of a photographed object.

If you missed CA’s free anti-virus give away or Check Point’s free ZoneAlarm ForceField then I would suggest getting this one while you can. System Mechanic is a system utility that automatically repairs errors and fragmentation, cleans out clutter, and tunes up your PC.

I’ve been using it to keep my system clean and optimize for many years and I’m pretty satisfied with it.
